Here are Oliver's first attempts at crawling. This was last week, and he's since refined his technique somewhat. He has no problem moving where he needs to on the ground, and he's discovered that pulling books off the bookshelf is pretty fun, too!
Also, about the same day he figured out locomotion, he showed signs of his first tooth! Jutting up from the front bottom gum, it has since grown a bit longer and sharper. This has led to some fussy discomfort, but mostly just lots of drool -- add that to the crawling, and you get slime trails across the carpet. -Keith

Oh no, this can't be.....now you will be able to get away from Grandma Mimi when she wants to love on you. What a big boy you are getting to be, just as handsome as ever though. Getting a tooth? That is always a bit painful, I'm sorry. Waiting to get your teeth now will make your teeth be much healthier. You are a smart little guy. Be gentle with Mom though, okay? I suppose by the time I see you next month I will have to chase you all over the place to get some of those sweet kisses and lovable hugs. Love you more and more each day. Grandma Mimi
Hey Oliver I didn't notice before my last note that today is the 8th anniversary of the day you were born. Happy day for all of us who love you so much. xxxxxxxxxooooooo. Hard to imagine loving you more than I do today my precious little man. Love, Grandma Mimi
Oops, 8th-month anniversary of the day you were born. Let's not have you growing up faster than necessary. Love you. Grandma Mimi
