Last Weekend we went to Portland’s wonderful zoo. It had been 6 or 7 years since Jenny and I had gone, and there were many new things to see. Of course with Oliver, it was a whole new experience. On the advice of our neighbors Dan and Kathy, we bought a yearly membership. We plan to get a lot of use out of it, with concerts in the summer and events in winter.
In the morning Oliver insisted on wearing his broken sunglasses, but the day turned out cold and rainy. We soon realized it would have been a good day for Oliver to wear boots. He still likes to stomp in those puddles. I have many photos of Oliver standing in front of Plexiglas, staring excitedly at some critter or another on the other side.
Next time, we’ll let him pet the sheep and goats in the farm area. I really love the old tractor they’ve parked out there! The aftermath of a much-enjoyed cinnamon-sugar elephant ear

Oliver, you are beginning to look more and more like your Daddy everyday. I hope your day at the zoo was warmer than when Grandpa David and I took you in February. Did you check out the bats again? I am looking forward to seeing you again very soon. Love you. Grandma Mimi. XXX000
